Two ganja smugglers arrested at Agartala Railway Station

Agartala, 31st July 2024:   Badharghat, the main railway station of Tripura continues to be a hotspot for illegal activities including human trafficking and cannabis smuggling. In a recent crackdown, police arrested two individuals involved in ganja smuggling on Tuesday. The police seized 28 kg of dry ganja from the suspects.

Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officers positioned themselves at the entrance of the railway station. Upon the arrival of the suspects, the police conducted a routine search of their bags, leading to the discovery of the contraband and the subsequent arrest of the two youths.

A police spokesperson stated, “We had advance information about the smuggling attempt and were able to apprehend the suspects promptly. Our efforts to curb illegal activities at the railway station will continue with increased vigilance.”

The arrests highlight the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in combating illegal activities at Agartala railway station.
