Agartala, 29th April 2025: Bishalgarh police arrested two individuals along with their vehicle this morning, following an attempt to steal bicycles in the Bishalgarh bypass area, allegedly to finance their drug addiction.
According to eyewitnesses, the two youths were caught red-handed trying to steal bicycles. Suspicious residents pursued the duo, eventually capturing and tying them to an electric pole. The locals reportedly handled the matter themselves before informing the authorities.
Police officials acted promptly upon receiving the report, arriving at the scene to take custody of the suspects and the vehicle used in their attempt. During the initial investigation, the accused admitted to the crime, revealing their motive as a need to procure funds for drugs.
The officer-in-charge of Bishalgarh police station confirmed that appropriate legal proceedings are underway against the offenders.
