Agartala, September 27 : In a significant breakthrough, Tripura Police successfully apprehended a passenger auto, bearing the registration number TR 01 J 4204, during a meticulously planned operation at Belfang Naka under the jurisdiction of Khowai police station.
Acting on confidential information, received from a reliable source, suggesting the transportation of brown sugar for illicit purposes, the police swiftly moved into action.
Today morning, officers were tipped off about an incoming consignment of brown sugar originating from Agartala. The ensuing operation led to the apprehension of two suspects, identified as Prasenjit Deb and Raju Deb, both hailing from Sidhai Mohanpur.
A thorough search of the apprehended vehicle yielded a substantial cache of illegal substances. Among the items seized were one packet of brown sugar and a thousand brown sugar cubes. Additionally, two mobile phones and two wallets were also recovered from the possession of the detainees.
The accused are currently in police custody and will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
