Agartala: May 23. Two passengers were injured after drunken police driver had hit two vehicles in Chebri Bazar.
It is known that a passenger auto and an eco car were parked in Chebri Bazar under Khowai police station. At that time, a car driver of Khowai police station was passing through Khowai-Teliamura road under the influence of alcohol.
The drunk driver of the police vehicle lost control and rammed the passenger auto. And the auto hits an Echo car. As a result, auto driver Paltu Debbarma and passenger Biswa Pratip Gore were seriously injured. The injured were immediately rescued and taken to Chebri Rural Hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the affected Eco car said that after the accident, the driver of the accused police vehicle started threatening the auto driver. OC Rajkumar Jamatia of Khowai police station rushed to the spot after receiving the news of the incident. Then the local people protested. Realizing that the situation was dire after the locals protested, OC Rajkumar Jamatia took the accident-stricken police vehicle and the passenger auto to the police station.
