Agartala, 27th June 2026: Two more accused have been arrested in connection with the shooting incident at a contractor’s residence in Bishalgarh. Police from Bishalgarh Police Station apprehended Aman Deb and Rahul Debnath—both close associates of the prime accused, Ranbir—who had been absconding for an extended period.
Acting on a tip-off, police surrounded Aman Deb’s residence in the Office Tila area late Friday night. Although the duo attempted to flee upon sensing the police presence, they were successfully detained. Sources confirmed that Aman and Rahul had been on the run since the arrests of several mafia figures, including Ranbir Debnath and Mon Sarkar.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bishalgarh Police Station stated that the shooting at the contractor’s house in Netajinagar occurred on March 21. With Friday’s arrests, all individuals implicated in the case have now been taken into custody. Five accused had previously been arrested, while Aman and Rahul remained at large until this operation.
The arrested duo was produced before the court on Saturday, where police sought remand for further interrogation.
