Agartala, 21st September 2026 : A vibrant Unity Cycling Rally and Tree Plantation Programme was organised in Agartala to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Around 100 cyclists took part in the programme, carrying a message of unity, national integration, environmental awareness and healthy living.
The rally started in the morning from Women’s College, Agartala. It was formally flagged off by Smt. Sanchita Reang, Principal of Women’s College, Agartala, and Dr. Dhananjoy Dey of TIT College. The cyclists rode with the National Flag, placards featuring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and event banners, adding a strong sense of unity and enthusiasm to the programme.
The rally was organised to highlight Patel’s vision of unity and integration, while also encouraging people to adopt cycling as a healthy and environment-friendly mode of transport.
A tree plantation drive was also held as part of the programme. The participating cyclists themselves took part in planting saplings at different locations within the Women’s College premises. The initiative brought together the messages of environmental protection, community participation and responsible citizenship.
To appreciate the cyclists’ participation, customised commemorative drinking water bottles were gifted to all participants. Certificates and trophies were also presented to the cyclists, followed by refreshments.
With around 100 cyclists riding together with the National Flag and Patel’s placards, the programme created a lively and inspiring atmosphere. The event was completed smoothly with enthusiastic participation from cyclists and members of the community.
The programme was organised by the Agartala Cycloholics Foundation (ACF) with support from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The Unity Cycling Rally and Tree Plantation Programme served as a meaningful tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, while spreading the message of unity, environmental responsibility, healthy living and active citizenship.
