Uran holds health camp for flood victims in Agartala

Agartala, 3rd June 2025:  In the wake of severe flooding caused by heavy rains last weekend, social organization Uran has stepped forward to provide healthcare services to affected residents. The relief effort led by orator Subhasish Kar, Subhrajit Bhattacharjee, dentist Dr. Ranabir Roy and Journalist & social worker Prasenjit Saha, Bipul Bhowmik , Registrar MBB University Sumanta Chakraborti,  aims to curb the spread of waterborne diseases among those displaced by the floods. 

As floodwaters submerged large parts of the capital, many residents were forced to evacuate and take shelter in relief camps. To safeguard their health, Udan organized a free health camp at Pragati Vidya Bhavan offering medical assistance to around 400 people. The initiative was supported by renowned doctors from GBP Hospital including Dr. Kanak Chowdhury and Dr. Sangeeta Chakraborty among others. 

Speaking to the media personnel here, Dr. Ranabir Roy, an active member of Uran emphasized the organization’s commitment to public health. “Our priority is to ensure that people staying in relief camps do not contract diseases due to prolonged exposure to contaminated water. The state government and GB Hospital doctors have extended their support to this effort,” he said. 

In addition to healthcare, Uran also delivered food supplies to relief camps for two days. The organization, known for its contributions to both social and cultural spheres, reaffirmed its pledge to continue supporting the community in times of crisis.
