Agartala, 20th July 2025: Pradip Datta Bhowmik, veteran journalist of Tripura and News Editor of Dainik Sangbad Patrika, passed away at AIIMS, New Delhi today after a prolonged illness. He was undergoing treatment at the premier medical institute for the past several days.
Confirming the news, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed deep sorrow over Bhowmik’s untimely demise and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
“I am deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Pradip Datta Bhowmik, News Editor of Dainik Sangbad Patrika and a senior journalist. He had been under treatment at AIIMS, Delhi for several days. I was in regular contact with him and his family. He passed away today around 3:45 PM after all medical efforts failed,” Dr. Saha said. He added, “We are truly pained by the loss. My heartfelt condolences to his family and relatives. I pray to God to grant eternal peace to his soul.”
Bhowmik was widely respected in Tripura’s journalistic fraternity for his decades-long contribution to regional media and public discourse. His passing leaves a significant void in the field of journalism in the state.
