Agartala, 26th October 2025: Tourism and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Sunday condemned the recent violence in Kamalpur subdivision of Dhalai district that followed the state-wide strike, urging citizens to reject separatist tendencies and uphold democratic values.

Speaking after attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme at Banamanipur in Agartala, Chowdhury said the incident was not political in nature and was widely denounced by people across Tripura.

“Rising above politics, people from all sections of society have condemned the incident. Our government and party do not endorse such disruptive activities. Peaceful and democratic protests cannot take the form of violence. The people of Tripura have already voiced their disapproval. The era of achieving goals through chaos is over — violence will never bring success,” the minister asserted.

Highlighting the rapid progress of India under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Chowdhury said Tripura too has been witnessing significant development in sectors such as economy, technology, and infrastructure, contributing to the country’s growing global stature.

Appealing for unity and focus on growth, he added, “Our collective objective should be to move Tripura forward on the path of peace and development.”
