Violent Attack on Housewife,  Father-in-Law by BJP local leader and his son in Barapathari

Agartala: September 10. In a shocking incident that unfolded in the Barapathari Munsipara area of Belonia sub-division, a housewife and her father-in-law were subjected to a brutal assault by the alleged leader of the BJP, Brajagopal Shil, and his son.

The victims reported threats to their lives during the horrifying ordeal. Brajagopal, a prominent figure in the local political landscape and affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has gained notoriety for his aggressive tactics. Residents attested that his influence in the area is so pervasive that not a leaf stirs without his approval. Even inhabitants of the Munshi Para area live in constant fear due to the purported reign of terror imposed by Brajgopal Sheel. The incident occurred on Sunday when the aggrieved party, visiting the accused’s residence, found themselves embroiled in a dispute.

Things escalated rapidly, resulting in a violent assault on the housewife. Brajagopal, along with his associates Surachi Shil and Sanju Shil, allegedly attacked the housewife. When the housewife’s son attempted to intervene and protect her in-laws, too fell victim to the assailants’ aggression.

The injured parties were promptly rushed to Belonia Hospital for medical attention. The distressed housewife vowed to pursue legal action against Brajagopal, citing a prolonged period of suffering and incessant threats.
