Agartala, August 12, 2022: With the initiative of ICA department, a colourful ‘Pada Yatra’ (foot-march) was held in the capital city of Tripura where Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha along with cabinet ministers, MLAs and PSU chairmen, senior bureaucrats of the civil and police administration participated.
The procession began from Circuit house and ended in front of Ujjayanta Palace’s entrance where a short cultural programme was also organized. This ‘Pada Yatra’ is being organized with an aim to make the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign successful.
Speaking to reporters here, CM Dr Saha said “We are participating in his ‘Pada Yatra’ for paying tribute to our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. From this foot-march, we once again urge everyone to hoist the national flag from August 13 and lower it on the evening of August 15.”
MoS Bhoumik said that she is happy to see the enthusiasm among people throughout the state for making the call of PM Modi of making the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ successful.
Meanwhile, ICA minister Choudhury said “In a bid to keep the country safe and protect the nation, many statesmen and brave soldiers had sacrificed their lives. As part of this remembrance, we are organizing this ‘Walk with Tiranga’ programme and urge everyone to hoist the national flag for three days starting from August 13 to pay respect to the freedom fighters.”
