Walkathon organized to mark 4yrs completion of Ayushman Bharat Scheme

 Agartala Sept 23: Along with the rest of the parts of the country, the National Health Mission of Tripura had announced a slew of health programs to mark four years completion of Ayushman Bharat Prakalpa.

Under the initiative of West Tripura District Committee, a walkathon was organized on Friday that kicked off from Rabindra Shatavarshiki premises in the capital city.Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder, Secretary Health Department Debasish Bose, SDM Asim Saha and other dignitaries took part in the day’s rally.

Addressing the reporters, Secretary, Health Department of Tripura, Debashish Bose said, “India took a giant leap towards providing accessible and affordable healthcare to the common man with the launch of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan AarogyaYojana (AB-PMJAY) by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 23rd September, 2018 at Ranchi, Jharkhand. Under the vision of Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan AarogyaYojana (AB-PMJAY) shall be implemented so that each and every citizen receives his due share of health care. With Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan AarogyaYojana, the government is taking healthcare protection to a new aspirational level. This is the world’s largest government funded healthcare program targeting more than 50 crore beneficiaries”.

He added, Tripura has covered almost 95 per cent of the beneficiaries in these four years. He further urged upon the common people to come forward and avail the benefits under Ayushman Bharat scheme.Talking to the reporters, AMC Mayor Deepak Majumder lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing up such schemes for welfare of the common people especially the poorer sections of the society.
