Agartala, 15th July 2026: Ahead of the upcoming Rath Yatra celebration of Lord Jagannath, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar on Wednesday took stock of the arrangements at Jagannath Bari Temple in Agartala, a major religious centre in the city.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak and Traffic SP Kanta Jangir. The officials visited Jagannath Bari Temple as well as ISKCON Agartala to assess the readiness for the grand procession.
During the review, the officials inspected various arrangements, including chariot safety measures, electrical facilities, procession routes, deployment of security personnel, traffic management plans, and emergency services to ensure the smooth movement of devotees.
Speaking after the inspection, Dr. Vishal Kumar said the preparations were progressing well and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made so far. He informed that the temple authorities and different government departments are working in close coordination with the administration to ensure a peaceful and successful Rath Yatra.
“Certain minor issues were identified during the inspection, and efforts are underway to resolve them by tonight. We are confident that the event will be conducted smoothly and devotees will receive all necessary facilities,” he said.
The District Magistrate appealed to devotees to participate in the festival with religious spirit while maintaining order and following safety instructions.
The administration has assured that adequate security, traffic control measures, and public facilities have been arranged for the successful conduct of the Rath Yatra.
