Agartala: August 02. In an effort to ensure comprehensive healthcare for children and pregnant women, the West District Health and Family Welfare Society has launched the ‘Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0’ program. The initiative aims to vaccinate all children and pregnant women who have not received any vaccination.
The program was officially announced during the district media workshop and press conference, which was held at the conference hall of the West District Governor’s office on Wednesday. District Magistrate Debpriya Bardhan highlighted the importance of this special vaccination drive and outlined its three-phased approach.
The first phase of the vaccination drive is scheduled to take place from August 7 to August 12, followed by the second phase from September 11 to September 16, and the third phase from October 9 to October 14.
He said that beneficiaries can easily register for vaccination through a portal designed to handle the vaccination queue. Additionally, certificates will be issued through the same portal after the vaccination process.
Addressing the media, DM Bardhan emphasized that the vaccination drive will prioritize areas with lower vaccination rates to ensure that maximum coverage is achieved.
“To identify the target beneficiaries, a thorough survey has already been conducted in the district. According to the survey results, a total of 365 pregnant women and 1335 children will benefit from this program within the next two years. The program will also cater to 502 children between the ages of 2 and 5 years”, he said,
He said that the primary objective of the ‘Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0’ is to bridge the gap in vaccination coverage and provide immunization to all those who may have been previously excluded from such programs.
