Woman found hanging at Bishalgarh, family alleges foul play

Agartala, 10th June 2025:    A tragic incident took place in Bishalgarh this morning when 30-year-old Helena Begum was found hanging inside her shop leaving behind her young daughter.

It is reported that, Helena, a resident of Kamthana had been married to Araber Rahman of Noapara for 12 years. Their marriage, marked by affection and mutual support, was widely known among locals. However, the circumstances surrounding her sudden demise have raised serious questions.

Upon finding her body, residents alerted the Bishalgarh Women’s Police Station. Law enforcement officials swiftly arrived at the scene, and the body was subsequently taken to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for further examination. Meanwhile, tensions escalated between the deceased’s family and her in-laws, leading to an altercation that required police intervention.

Helena’s family has alleged that her death was not a suicide but a premeditated murder. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, and forensic analysis including an autopsy is expected to provide clarity on the cause of death. Local representatives and police officials have assured that appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
