Agartala, 26th June 2024:   In a heartwarming gesture, the World Meetei Council Tripura branch has stepped forward to assist those displaced by the ongoing unrest in Manipur. The relief camps, which have been home to many for over a year, are now receiving essential support from the organization.

Mutum Amit Sinha, secretary of the World Meetei Council Tripura branch, emphasized the urgency of the situation. “Our representatives rushed to the relief camp in Manipur,” he stated, “delivering much-needed food items to those sheltered there.”

Despite the prolonged unrest, the government’s response has been lacking. The absence of decisive action to restore peace in Manipur has prompted calls from various quarters for immediate intervention. The World Meetei Council’s efforts serve as a reminder that community solidarity can make a difference during challenging times. Sinha further urged the government to prioritize peace and stability in the region.

As the fire of unrest continues to burn, organizations like the World Meetei Council play a crucial role in providing relief and hope to those affected. Their compassionate outreach serves as a beacon of support for the displaced families enduring hardship in the relief camps.
