Agartala, September 08, 2023: In commemoration of World Physiotherapy Day, the Tripura Chapter of The Indian Association of Physiotherapists organized a vibrant procession in front of the Rabindra Centenary Building on Friday morning. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining good health, with participants carrying placards bearing health-related messages.
Director of the Sports Department, Satyabrata Nath, emphasized the significance of Physiotherapy Day, a tradition celebrated in India since 1996.
Following the procession, a free physiotherapy camp was organized at the Agartala Police Line. The Indian Association of Physiotherapists Tripura Chapter, in collaboration with the Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences, provided valuable physiotherapy services to the serving jawans of the State Police and their family members.
Dr. Birbar Debnath, the President of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists Agartala branch, reported that approximately 50 to 60 individuals benefited from the services provided at the camp. This initiative aimed to support the physical well-being of those who serve the community by ensuring access to professional physiotherapeutic care.
The event received distinguished guests, with West District Superintendent of Police, Kiran Kumar K, gracing the occasion. His presence underscored the importance of physiotherapy in the context of law enforcement and the well-being of those who protect and serve the community.
