Youth bleeds after robbery at Kailashahar

Agartala, 31st August 2025 :   A youth was found grievously injured late last night at Kailashahar. The incident took place near the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office close to the fire service station, has led to allegations of a violent robbery. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Unakoti District Hospital.

According to the complaint, Bilal Ahmed, a resident of Safri Kandi village in Ward 6 under Tilagaon Gram Panchayat of Gournagar RD Block was returning home after withdrawing cash from an ATM when he was allegedly intercepted by a local timber trader Makaddus Ali. Ahmed claims that the accused demanded money, and upon his refusal, he was struck on the head from behind with an iron rod, causing heavy bleeding and immediate collapse.

Eyewitnesses rushed Ahmed to Unakoti District Hospital, where doctors reportedly administered multiple stitches to his head. His condition is said to be critical, and plans are underway to refer him for advanced medical care.

Speaking to the media personnel here, the victim’s brother Muktar Ahmed alleged, “This was a premeditated attempt to murder my brother. He was attacked with a rod solely to rob him. We have filed a written complaint against the accused with Kailashahar Police Station.”Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
