Agartala, 15th May 2025: In yet another tragic road accident, a youth lost his life this afternoon after being run over by a speeding bus in the Darogabari area. This incident took place just hours after another accident in the Bhuiya Matha area of East Gokulnagar.
Local sources informed that the deceased was known in the area as a homeless wanderer, but his identity remains unknown. Witnesses report that a bus traveling from Udaipur to Agartala bearing registration number TR07-1258, lost control and ran over the victim crushing his head instantly. The accident sparked outrage among residents, who vandalized the bus in response to the tragic event.
Amtali police station staff arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. Locals allege that reckless driving and the complete negligence of traffic authorities have led to multiple fatal incidents on the Agartala-Udaipur route in the past two days.
Fire department personnel recovered the body and transported it to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, where it currently remains in the morgue.
