Agartala, July 18, 2023: A devastating incident unfolded in the capital city when a young man succumbed to the grip of drug addiction.
Banti Acharya, aged between 22 and 24 years, had been battling drug addiction for the past three to four years. Daily, he would engage in drug-related activities and return home intoxicated.
However, around 10 to 12 days ago, his condition deteriorated drastically after consuming an excessive amount of drugs, leading to his hospitalization at GIB Hospital.
Despite some improvement in his health, Banti’s recovery was short-lived as he relapsed into illness soon after returning home a few days ago. His memory and vision started to fade, prompting his family to rush him back to GIB Hospital.
Tragically, on Tuesday morning, the young man breathed his last, leaving his distraught parents bereaved. His parents had made numerous attempts to help their only son break free from the clutches of drugs. They tried various treatments, hoping for his recovery, but their efforts proved insufficient.
The grief-stricken parents handed over Banti’s lifeless body to the authorities after the post-mortem examination.
