Agartala, 24th February 2026:  A 35-year-old man identified as Surajit Pal has been missing from his home in Kalapani village under Fatikroy police station for the past four months. Despite filing a missing diary, his family claims police have failed to trace him, leaving them in deep distress.

According to his mother, Sanchita Pal, Surajit left home saying he was going to Kumarghat but never returned. She lodged a missing complaint at Fatikroy police station soon after. However, she alleges that even after more than a month, police have shown little progress in the investigation.

Surajit, who worked in a rubber plantation, has not been found despite the family’s efforts to contact relatives and search nearby areas. “We have visited every relative’s house, but there is no trace of him. I requested a receipt copy of the missing diary, but the police refused to provide it,” Sanchita Pal told reporters, accusing the authorities of negligence and non-cooperation.

The family says they are mentally shattered after months of uncertainty. They continue to appeal to the administration to take urgent steps to locate Surajit.

Meanwhile, growing frustration and anger are evident among the relatives, who allege that police inaction has worsened their suffering. The family insists that the authorities must act swiftly to bring the missing youth back home.
