Bihar Assembly was adjourned till lunch on Friday following a ruckus created by the opposition over the issue of smart prepaid electric meters.
Through a supplement to his short-noticed question, Congress member Ajit Sharma raised various anomalies in the smart prepaid meters and its billing during the pre-lunch sitting and termed it as a major scam. He demanded a probe into the smart prepaid meter scam by a House Committee.
To this the Energy Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav blamed him for unnecessarily politicising the issue.
The annoyed opposition which was creating noise from their places trooped to the well and shouted slogans against the government.
The Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav requested the Members to resume their seats but they continued to create a ruckus from the well of the house demanding the constitution of a committee of the house for inquiry into the matter.
Later the speaker adjourned the house till lunch at 11:20 hours.
