Bihar assembly adjourned till lunch following oppn’s ruckus

Bihar assembly was adjourned till lunch on Thursday following ruckus created by the opposition which continued its demand for resignation of the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his crude remarks.

As the house assembled for the day and the speaker took up the question hour proceedings, the opposition members shouting slogans and demanding resignation from the chief minister trooped to the well waving play-cards and posters.

The question hour proceedings began amid noise created by the opposition members who later lifted the reporter’s chairs in the well.

To this, the speaker Awadh Bihari Chaudhary warned them of action for damaging government property. He asked his staff to note down the names of the MLA’s lifting chairs and other properties of the house.

The speaker’s warning failed to pacify the BJP MLA’s and suddenly the opposition MLAs and the ruling party MLAs at one point of time were confronting each other.

To avoid confrontation, the speaker, amid pandemonium which continued for nearly 8 minutes announced to adjourn the house till 12 o’clock but later extended it till 2:00 p.m.
