Cong’s manifesto will be ‘people’s manifesto’, says Chidambaram

The 2024 Lok Sabha election manifesto of the Indian National Congress will be a ‘people’s manifesto’ for which a massive exercise will be undertaken across the country to seek suggestions from the people, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said on Wednesday.

Addressing the media at the AICC headquarters here, Chidambaram said, “It is going to be a people’s mandate and Congress will be inviting suggestions from the people across the country and will try to incorporate as many suggestions as possible”.

Welcoming the INDIA alliance partners in the consultation process he said, “whether it will be a close door or not will be decided by the Congress president and other party leaders”.

Last month, the Congress party had constituted a manifesto committee for the 2024 general election under the chairmanship of P Chidambaram. Former Chhattisgarh deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo was made the convenor of the panel.

The senior Congress leader said that the party will have public consultations in every state and the committee members will interact with the people, local leaders and workers of the party.

He also appealed to all the people especially the youth, women and farmers to give their suggestions and be apart of nation building.

The party also launched a dedicated website for the people to send their suggestions. People can also email their suggestion directly on “awaazbharatki@inc.in”.

The former Union Minister also urged the media houses to cooperate in building a new India and also sought suggestions.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader KC Venugopal while urging the people to join and give their valuable inputs for the manifesto on X posted, “The Congress is not a party, it is the voice of the people.

We don’t believe in top-down policymaking, we channel the aspirations of the common citizens and bring meaningful policies to transform their lives.

Join us as we seek your inputs on what our 2024 Manifesto should be!

Submit your inputs to awaazbharatki.in and participate in this historic exercise!”
