Agartala, 18th March 2026: Major General IS Bhinder, Inspector General, IGAR (East), visited Haflong Battalion from 17–18 Mar 2026 to undertake a comprehensive review of the internal security landscape in Dima Hasao district. During the visit, he was apprised by the Commandant on the prevailing security situation in the region.
The IG carried out a thorough assessment of operational preparedness and commended the troops for their outstanding performance, exceptional professionalism, and unwavering commitment in maintaining peace and stability. His interaction with officers and troops proved highly motivating, significantly boosting morale and inspiring all ranks to continue their duties with renewed dedication and zeal.
As part of the visit, the IG also engaged with local NGOs and important stakeholders of Dima Hasao, holding meaningful discussions on the internal security dynamics of the region. The interaction underscored the importance of synergy between security forces and civil society in ensuring lasting peace.
The visit reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ steadfast commitment to safeguarding the region while fostering strong ties with the local populace.
