Kolkata horror: SC slams Bengal govt over delay in filing FIR

The Supreme Court on Thursday slammed the West Bengal government for the delay in filing the first information report (FIR) in the murder and rape of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata on August 9.

Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud noted that the FIR was filed after a delay of three hours and 15 minutes after cremation of the young doctor.
