Meghalaya Fisheries minister and senior BJP leader, Alexander Laloo Hek has expressed his keenness to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Shillong parliamentary seat.
“I am keen to contest the Lok Sabha elections if the BJP leadership asks me to do so,” the veteran BJP legislator said on Thursday.
Apart from him, Hek said that there are two candidates. “Let the party leadership see who will be the best choice among the three to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Shillong seat,” he said.
On reports of state Trinamool Congress leaders approaching the BJP to join, the BJP legislator said, “I am not aware of any such move and I don’t know whether TMC leader Dr Mukul Sangma is joining. I have not met him nor discussed anything with him.”
However, he said, “Our door is not just open to the TMC but for all political parties”.
