West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced of releasing Rs 197 Cr to 2.46 lakh affected farmers.
Taking to X, Banerjee said, ” We are releasing Rs.197 Cr to 2.46 lakh affected farmers, who could not sow paddy due to deficit rainfall. “
The claims have been finalised under Bangla Shasya Bima (BSB), which is a fully State Government-funded crop Insurance scheme, ” she added
” We pay the entire premium amount. Farmers are not required to pay anything, ” Banerjee stated.
” Since the inspection of the scheme in 2019, we have paid more than Rs 2400 CR to 85 lakh farmers, ” she informed.
