Seven of family charred to death in Mumbai

 At least seven members of a family, including two children, died after a short circuit allegedly caused a fire in a two-storey building in Mumbai on Sunday, officials said.

The incident took place at around 5 a.m. in Colony. Plot no. 16/1, Sidharth Colony, K. N. Gaikwad Marg, Chembur area of city subarb.

According to fire bridge sources, the fire started in a shop on the ground floor that housed electrical items and spread to the upper floor, where the family resided.

The victims have been identified as

1)Presi Prem Gupta, F/6 yrs,

2) Manju Prem Gupta, F/30 years

3) Anita Dharmdev Gupta, F/39yrs

4) Prem Chediram Gupta, M/30yrs

5) Narendra Gupta, M/10 years

6) Vidhi Chediram Gupta, F/15yrs

7) Gitadevi Dharamdev Gupta, F/60yrs

They were taken to the Rajawadi Hospital but were declared brought dead.

Fire was doused after two hours.
