Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who arrived on Sunday night on a two-day visit to Odisha, visited Lingaraj temple on Monday and offered prayer to the Lord on the auspicious last Monday of Shravan month.
Amid tight security Shah performed the ‘Jalabhishek’ inside the Lingaraj temple and later performed puja near Goddess Parvati inside the temple complex.
After offering puja, the Union Home Minister left for Cuttack, the silver city Odisha and visited
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthplace museum at Odia Bazar in Cuttack and pay floral tribute
to the bust of Subash Chandra Bose on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
He was accompanied by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior party leaders. Shah will attend the 75th anniversary of Odia daily Prajatantra at Jawaharlal Nehru
Indoor Stadium in the city.
The Home Minister will hold discussions with senior party leaders at the party office in Bhubaneswar and grace the function in the evening to attend a book reading of Modi@20 here before returning to Delhi in the evening.
