Agartala, 21st July 2025: A key road connecting Champahour to Chayapara in Tripura’s Asharambari Assembly Constituency has fallen into alarming disrepair, sparking frustration among residents and renewed calls for immediate government intervention.
Despite being a vital route that passes through several populated areas, the condition of the roadway has steadily worsened though Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma won from this constituency. Residents claim that even minor rainfall renders the stretch nearly impassable, severely disrupting daily life and posing serious risks during medical or emergency situations.
Repeated appeals to local authorities and departmental officials have yielded little response, with no major repair work undertaken so far. “What are we supposed to do in an emergency when the road itself becomes the obstacle?” a local resident asked in anguish.
The damaged stretch has become symbolic of wider infrastructure issues in the region, with citizens accusing officials of ignoring their pleas and breaking prior assurances of repair.
Amid growing public anger, residents have now formally approached Minister Animesh Debbarma, urging him to ensure urgent restoration of the road. They emphasized that swift action is essential to restore basic connectivity and ease the daily hardships faced by the community.
