Agartala, 22nd July 2025: In a bid to foster public understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), the “AI for Digital Readiness and Advancement” (ADiRA) initiative in collaboration with the Kailashahar Press Club organized an awareness workshop today at the Club premises.
The session saw active participation from 89 attendees, including journalists, students, professionals, and local residents. AI Master Trainer Joydeep Dasgupta led the workshop, presenting the uses, applications, and potential challenges of artificial intelligence in accessible and engaging language. He emphasized that while AI is rapidly transforming sectors such as education, healthcare, industry, and media, improper implementation could lead to complications highlighting the need for skill-based training over mere curiosity.
Participants received hands-on training in AI tools, misinformation detection, and fact-checking techniques. The interactive session offered them practical insights into applying AI in real-life scenarios and helped them envision how AI could become an asset in their respective fields.
Representing Kailashahar Press Club, Vice President Anupam Pal, Arindam Dey, Secretary Sukanta Chakraborty, senior members Charukrishna Kar, Prolayendu Choudhury and Abdul Munim among others attended the workshop and extended their support.
Addressing concerns about AI-induced job displacement, Dasgupta reassured attendees, stating, “Those who acquire the right knowledge and skills need not fear AI, it opens doors to entirely new opportunities.”
The workshop concluded with positive feedback from participants, many of whom expressed interest in attending future sessions. The Press Club confirmed plans to continue organizing such educational initiatives in the coming months.
