Agartala, 31st July 2025: After years of modest festivities, the 12th Battalion of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) is set to revive its grand Durga Puja celebrations this year.
The announcement came during the ritual of Khuti Puja, where Commandant Ashok Kumar Sinha joined by Deputy Commandant Subodh Chandra Das confirmed that the battalion will hold the festivities at Chakmaghat, embracing a theme centered around a fictional pandal and a creative portrayal of Nava Durga.
Once a major cultural highlight in Teliamura, TSR’s Durga Puja had scaled down over the past five to six years. However, this year promises a vibrant comeback. Organizers express confidence that, much like past editions, the celebration will draw significant public attention from Teliamura and across the state.
Beyond the religious observance, TSR jawans have consistently taken initiative in organizing the puja themselves, also dedicating efforts to various social service activities.
