Agartala, 31st October 2025: In a remarkable feat of endurance and love, Shyamtaru Datta and his father Utpal Datta, residents of Haradhan Sangha, Agartala have successfully completed their long-distance cycling journey from Agartala to Delhi. The duo, both proud members of the Agartala Cycloholics Foundation (ACF), began their expedition on September 23, 2025 with the goal of spreading the spirit of fitness, family bonding, and environmental awareness.
Utpal Datta, a respected Class-I contractor, is known in the community for his integrity and professional dedication. His wife Rupa Datta, an engineer and passionate cyclist, is also a core member of ACF. Their son Shyamtaru, a graduate of Holy Cross College, may be a slow learner by academics, but his unmatched determination and perseverance have made him an icon of inspiration for many young riders.
The father-son duo cycled an average of 50 to 100 kilometres per day, traversing multiple states and meeting countless well-wishers along the way. Loaded with their essential gear, they pedalled tirelessly through highways, plains, and bustling towns — proving that with willpower and courage, no distance is too long. “Every day brought new challenges and new friends. This journey is an unforgettable chapter of our lives,” shared Shri Utpal Datta while resting briefly near Patna before the final stretch to Delhi.
Their association with the Agartala Cycloholics Foundation dates back to 2018, when they participated in the historic Agartala-to-Bangladesh ride and several city-wide social awareness rallies. Their consistent presence has inspired countless cyclists across Tripura.
On reaching the Delhi Gate, the ACF community and well-wishers from Agartala extended heartfelt congratulations to both riders. “Limitations don’t exist in the body; they live only in the mind. When the mind is strong, everything becomes possible.”
This inspiring duo’s expedition stands as a shining example of how family support, discipline, and belief can turn any dream into reality. Today, on 31 October 2025, they triumphantly reached the Delhi Gate, marking the successful completion of their memorable journey from Agartala to Delhi.
