Agartala, 3rd November 2025:   Fresh allegations of corruption have surfaced surrounding the recent optometric examination conducted for 85 posts, prompting the Pradesh Youth Congress to submit a deputation to the Director of the Health Department on Monday.

Youth Congress leader said that this is the second time they have raised concerns over the examination process, having previously submitted a deputation on October 17. They alleged that the 2024 examination was conducted on plain white paper instead of standardized OMR sheets, calling the process “opaque and corrupt.”

The organization further claimed that the current year’s examination reused questions from a 2021 online portal, undermining the integrity of the recruitment process. Students who appeared for the test also reportedly flagged multiple errors in the question paper, adding to the controversy.

Calling for an impartial and transparent investigation, the Youth Congress demanded that the examination be re-conducted immediately. They warned that failure to act would compel them to launch a larger movement to ensure accountability.

“The credibility of the recruitment process is at stake. We will not remain silent if such irregularities continue unchecked,” said a Youth Congress spokesperson.
