Agartala, 10th November 2025: Former Tripura Chief Minister and senior CPI(M) leader Manik Sarkar launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in several states, alleging that they serve corporate interests under an ideology akin to fascism.
Addressing a public rally in Agartala, Sarkar accused the RSS and BJP of systematically eroding democratic rights while enabling large-scale corporate exploitation. He said the BJP governments are “turning mountains of loot into monuments of plunder,” claiming that policies are being framed to benefit capitalists at the expense of workers and the poor.
Highlighting the deteriorating socio-economic conditions, Sarkar said workers across the country are struggling to survive, even as both central and state governments remain under BJP control. He urged people to recognize the need for resistance and to raise political consciousness against what he described as a regime of exploitation.
Sarkar recalled the legacy of Left Front governments in West Bengal, Tripura, and Kerala, describing them as administrations that upheld democratic rights and fought against misrule. He alleged that only Kerala continues to maintain a democratic government, while conspiracies are being hatched to destabilize it with the BJP’s support.
Expressing optimism about the Left’s resurgence, Sarkar said efforts are underway to build a people-centric political alternative at both state and national levels. He identified capitalism and imperialism as the root causes of the present crisis and called for a united ideological and political struggle led by the working class.
Condemning alleged attempts to suppress recent protests in Agartala, Sarkar said the ruling party fears the people’s awakening. “Despite obstacles, the people will prevail,” he declared, urging workers to “march forward with the red flag and stand firm in struggle.”
