Agartala, 11th November 2025:  Members of the ‘Amra Bangali’ party submitted a deputation to the Dhalai district administration today outlining a seven-point demand aimed at safeguarding public interest. The memorandum, addressed to the Chief Minister through the District Magistrate, was presented by the party’s Dhalai district committee, urging swift action on the listed issues.

The demands stem largely from the violent incidents that took place at Santirbazar on October 23 during a 24-hour Tripura bandh reportedly called by a civil society group. The party alleged that local traders and administrative officials were brutally attacked during the unrest and called for exemplary punishment for those involved.

The key demands put forth by the Amra Bangali party include the identification and prosecution of those responsible for the Santirbazar violence, and the provision of state-funded medical treatment for all individuals injured during the bandh-related clashes. The party also called for compensation to affected shop owners, proposing Rs 40 lakh for severely damaged businesses and Rs 10 lakh for those with minor losses. To enhance public safety, they demanded the establishment of a permanent police outpost or TSR camp near Santirbazar. Additionally, they urged an immediate halt to liquor and drug licensing in the area, along with the arrest and prosecution of individuals involved in the illicit trade. The party further advocated for block-level development plans to ensure 100% local employment, and emphasized the need to curb historical distortion and communal propaganda in order to restore harmony among communities and maintain peace in the state.

Due to the absence of the District Magistrate, the deputation was received by the Additional District Magistrate and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Following the submission, party representatives visited Shantir Bazar to interact with affected traders and local residents, gathering firsthand accounts of the damage and grievances.
