Agartala, 17th November 2025: A 26-year-old man identified as Tutan Das of DM Colony attempted suicide by consuming pesticide in front of Teliamura town market yesterday evening. The incident took place just metres away from the local police station, drawing immediate public attention.
Locals informed that Tutan had asked his mother, a daily wage labourer for Rs 100, but she could only give him Rs 40. Upset, he reportedly bought pesticide from a nearby shop and consumed it in the busy marketplace.
Fire service personnel reached the spot promptly and rushed him to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital, where he is currently under treatment.
