Agartala, 17th November 2025: Unakoti district has launched a series of initiatives to control and prevent dengue and other vector-borne diseases. According to the district health authorities, a total of 348 people underwent dengue screening across various subdivisions between 11 and 17 November 2025. Among them, 96 individuals tested positive, and two patients are currently undergoing treatment.
In response to the situation, the District Health and Family Welfare Society has taken swift action. A special team comprising district health officials visited the affected areas and ensured the implementation of necessary preventive measures. Seven health camps have already been conducted in these localities. Additionally, ASHA workers and other health staff are engaged in door-to-door visits to curb mosquito breeding and promote dengue prevention. They are also monitoring and conducting regular follow-up of infected patients.
The Health and Family Welfare Department has rolled out a series of programmes across Unakoti district for dengue prevention and control in 2025. These measures include household inspections to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, public awareness campaigns, larvicidal spraying, fogging, miking, displaying banners, and disseminating information through awareness vehicles. Distribution of leaflets and organization of health camps, along with the provision of necessary medicines, are also part of the ongoing efforts.
In addition to the health department, several other agencies are working collaboratively to combat dengue and other vector-borne diseases. The district administration, Social Education and Social Welfare Departments, Education Department, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, and Block Development Officers are jointly taking all necessary steps to manage the situation effectively.
