Agartala, 28th November 2025:   The Tripura TET Teachers Workers Association has submitted a formal appeal to Chief Minister, urging immediate steps to address long-standing disparities in pay, service conditions, and financial security of state employees.

In a memorandum signed by Ajay Pal, Secretary of the Tripura TET Teachers Workers Association (TTTWA), employees highlighted several unresolved demands that they say have left them financially disadvantaged compared to their counterparts in other states and at the central level.

Pal stressed that Tripura’s workforce receives significantly lower pay than staff in other states and at the central level, and argued that a uniform national salary framework would eliminate disparities and boost morale. They pointed out that incomplete implementation of the previous pay commission has left Tripura among the lowest-paying states, with reduced basic pay, grade pay, and allowances. The association further demanded abolition of the fixed pay policy for teachers, noting that most states have already scrapped the system, and called for permanent pay scales from the date of appointment to uphold professional dignity and financial stability.

Pal also urged the government to restore the Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme in place of the Modified ACP (MACP), citing anomalies in the latter that hinder fair financial growth. The memorandum pressed for enhancement of gratuity benefits to Rs 25 lakh, in line with central norms and practices in several other states, to ensure post-retirement security. It highlighted that Tripura’s teachers receive lower grade pay compared to their counterparts elsewhere, which affects salaries, pensions, increments, and promotions, and therefore demanded urgent revision. Finally, employees sought immediate release of pending Dearness Allowance (DA), emphasizing that other states provide full DA to offset inflation and rising living costs.

The association emphasized that despite their dedication and sincerity in contributing to the state’s development, employees remain financially strained and demoralized under the current system.

Ajay Pal, representing TTTWA, appealed to the Chief Minister for “sympathetic consideration and favorable decision” on these issues, stressing that resolving them is vital for both employee welfare and administrative efficiency.
