Agartala, 21st December 2025: Yet another incident of assault on a delivery boy has been reported from the capital. The incident took place on Sunday around 12 noon at Narayanpur Market under Airport Police Station limits.
According to the details of the incident, the wife of a BSF jawan had ordered items through an online delivery platform. The delivery boy, identified as Rupam Saha, reached the address mentioned in the order near the Bandhan Bank area of Narayanpur and called the customer on the registered phone number to hand over the items.
However, the BSF jawan’s wife reportedly stated that she had not placed any order for delivery at the Bandhan Bank–adjacent address. She claimed that the order was meant to be delivered near the Ashirbad Finance Company area. Following this, an argument broke out over the phone.
It is alleged that the BSF jawan took the phone and used abusive language against the delivery boy. He then instructed the delivery boy to wait in front of Bandhan Bank. Upon arriving at the spot, the BSF jawan allegedly got down from his bike and physically assaulted Rupam Saha, slapping, punching, and kicking him, causing serious injuries. Reports further allege that the jawan continued the assault by beating the delivery boy with his shoes in the middle of the road.
The matter was immediately reported to the police. Airport Police Station personnel called the accused BSF jawan to the police station for questioning. Other delivery workers have demanded that the accused be arrested within 24 hours and strict action be taken. They warned that if a similar incident occurs again, like the recent Dharamnagar case, the responsibility would lie with the police administration.
The accused BSF jawan is reportedly posted at Agartala MBB Airport. Now all eyes are on the police to see what action will be taken in this case.
