Agartala, 25th December 2025 :  Tripura’s former Chief Minister and BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday expressed grave concern over the growing influence of fundamentalist groups in Bangladesh, warning that it is pushing the country toward instability and endangering its very existence.

Reacting to reports of violence against minority communities, Deb said the law-and-order situation in Bangladesh has significantly deteriorated, particularly following the death of Usman Bin Hadi. He alleged that incidents of arson targeting the homes of Hindu minorities, along with reports of brutal killings, have emerged from several parts of the country.

According to the BJP MP, extremist ideologies have stripped certain groups of basic human values, leading to violent and divisive actions. He claimed that such activities are not only disrupting social harmony but are also worsening Bangladesh’s economic condition with each passing day.

Deb further stated that some extremist elements believe targeting minority Hindus will help safeguard their own existence. However, he warned that such actions would ultimately endanger Bangladesh’s future.

“Attacking minorities will not save anyone’s existence,” Deb said, adding that those responsible for such acts should not expect to be spared.
