Agartala, 12th January 2026: A shocking incident of domestic violence took place at Vivekananda Palli under Sabroom subdivision, where an elderly father and his daughter were brutally attacked by a family member.
It is reported that, 75-year-old Haralal Shukla Das and his daughter Ruby Shukla Das were assaulted by Haralal’s son Lakshman Shukla Das following a heated family dispute. In a fit of rage, Lakshman struck his father on the head, leaving him severely injured and bleeding on the ground.
Hearing the cries for help, neighbors rushed to the scene and quickly rescued the injured duo, taking them to Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital.
Dr. Drisha Das Majumdar, the attending physician, informed the media that Haralal sustained a serious head injury with heavy blood loss. His condition was described as critical, and after initial treatment, he was referred to South District Hospital for advanced medical care.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
