Agartala, 13th January 2026: District Magistrate of South Tripura district Muhammad Sajjad P. (IAS) convened a coordination meeting with journalists from across the district today at the Belonia Circuit House. The session, organized at the initiative of the District Magistrate, brought together representatives from the press clubs of Sabroom, Santirbazar and Belonia.
During the meeting, participants engaged in open discussions on a range of issues concerning the media fraternity, including infrastructural development of press clubs in the district. A major point of focus was the proposal to allocate a new site for the Santirbazar Press Club, which received significant attention.
Senior journalists Bikram Debnath and Keshab Debnath from Santirbazar Press Club, Abhijit Bhattacharjee and Snehashish Chakraborty from Belonia Press Club, and Bandhan Das and Parthajit Chakraborty from Sabroom Press Club, along with several others actively contributed to the dialogue.
Journalists present expressed optimism that the District Magistrate would give due consideration to the issues raised. The initiative has been welcomed by the media community as a positive step towards strengthening coordination between the administration and the press.
