Agartala, 18th February 2026:    Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education Tinku Roy underscored women’s empowerment and workplace safety during a state-level training workshop on the SHe-Box portal held Wednesday at Pragya Bhavan.

The SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment electronic Box), developed by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, serves as a centralized digital platform for registering workplace sexual harassment complaints under the PoSH Act, 2013. Roy noted that the recently upgraded portal offers a user-friendly interface and enables monitoring of complaints across both organized and unorganized sectors.

“The government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working tirelessly to make women self-reliant and empowered. In Tripura, schemes under TRLM have already sanctioned Rs 2,100 crore to skill and train women for sustainable livelihoods,” Roy said.

He also pointed to new initiatives such as SHE Marts, announced in the Union Budget 2026–27, which will allow rural women’s Self Help Groups to operate community-owned retail outlets. These marts will provide a platform for selling handicrafts, farm produce, and processed foods, expanding on the success of the Lakhpati Didi programme that aims to help rural women earn at least Rs 1 lakh annually.

The workshop trained nodal officers, HR professionals, and Internal Committee members on complaint registration, legal compliance for organizations with 10 or more employees, employer responsibilities in workplace safety, and awareness modules defining sexual harassment and redressal procedures.

Roy emphasized that such training is essential to ensure effective implementation of the law and to foster workplaces free from intimidation and discrimination.

The event was attended by Tripura Commission for Women Chairperson Jharna Debbarma, Special Secretary Tapan Kumar Das, and other senior officials. Participants noted that the workshop reinforced not only compliance but also the government’s broader vision of empowering women socially, economically, and professionally.
