Agartala, 24th February 2026:  In a bid to bring rural healthcare services closer to the community, Kadamtala Community Health Centre (CHC) organized a special health and awareness camp at the Paschim Bagan Anganwadi Kendra under the Bagan Sub-Centre. The initiative was aimed at providing medical services and spreading awareness among local residents.

The camp was led by Community Health Officer Ali Hossain, who conducted health check-ups and offered medical advice to patients. He was supported by a Multi-Purpose Health Worker (MPHW), an ASHA worker, and staff from the Anganwadi Centre. Together, they ensured smooth operations and effective delivery of services.

The camp provided free medical consultations along with the distribution of medicines. In addition, awareness sessions were conducted on several key issues: anemia, with emphasis on risks among women and children; personal hygiene, highlighting the importance of cleanliness in preventing disease; non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, focusing on lifestyle-related prevention; and teenage pregnancy, addressing associated health risks and promoting awareness.

A total of 39 patients received healthcare services during the camp. Screening for non-communicable diseases recorded the highest participation, with 28 patients undergoing hypertension checks and another 28 screened for diabetes. Hemoglobin tests were conducted for 5 individuals, while 3 cases of diarrhea, 4 cases of respiratory problems, and 3 cases of fever were also treated.

Local residents expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the initiative, noting that such camps play a vital role in safeguarding rural health. Free medicines and accessible medical services were particularly welcomed. Community leaders praised the health department’s efforts and called for regular camps to strengthen healthcare delivery in villages.

Kadamtala CHC extended gratitude to all health workers, Anganwadi staff, and residents for their cooperation in making the camp a success.
