Agartala, 6th May 2026: A heartwarming act of compassion by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ajit Debbarma of Bishramganj Police Station has drawn widespread praise across the Mid-Brajpur area of Charilam block.
Local sources informed that Nayan Rabi Das, a fourth-grade student of Brajapur High School’s primary section, comes from an extremely poor family. His father, Krishna Rabi Das, earns a meager living by repairing shoes along Charilam Block Road, with daily earnings fluctuating between Rs 20 and Rs 30. Struggling to meet basic household expenses, the family was unable to afford notebooks or private tuition for young Nayan, despite receiving government textbooks.
Moved by the boy’s plight, OC Ajit Debbarma personally visited the family this afternoon. He handed over study materials worth nearly Rs 1,000, including notebooks, exercise books, and pens, to Nayan. In addition, he provided one month’s supply of essential food items to the family.
The gesture left Nayan’s family deeply emotional, while residents of the area hailed the initiative as a rare example of humanity in today’s times. Locals remarked that Debbarma’s action proves the timeless truth of the phrase “Man is for man”—not just as a poetic line, but as a living reality.
Family in dire straits appeals for aid to treat disabled daughter
Agartala, 6th May 2026: A helpless family from Chikonchhara village has fallen into extreme financial crisis while struggling to provide medical care for their disabled daughter. The parents, Firod Debbarma and Sari Debbarma, have now appealed to the Chief Minister for urgent financial assistance.
Reportedly, their only child, eight-year-old Ayesha Debbarma, has been suffering from severe physical disabilities since birth. She is unable to walk and cannot speak clearly. Over the years, her parents have spent everything they had on her treatment, even selling their house and land to cover medical expenses.
With their resources completely exhausted, continuing Ayesha’s treatment has become nearly impossible. Her parents have expressed deep concern over the situation and urged the state government to extend humanitarian support so that their daughter’s medical care can continue.
The family’s plea has already stirred sympathy among local residents, who are now looking to the administration to take swift action. All eyes remain on whether the authorities will respond promptly to this desperate appeal.
