Questions raised after police raid in hotel at Agartala

Date:

Agartala, 24th May 2026 :  A police raid at Bijoya Palace Hotel on BK Road in Agartala on Sunday afternoon has triggered debate and speculation after allegations surfaced regarding the handling of the operation.

According to police sources, a team from East Agartala Police Station carried out the raid following information about suspected illegal activities at the hotel. Several rooms were searched during the operation, but officials later stated that no major evidence of unlawful activities was found.

However, the incident has drawn attention after local residents alleged that police officers held a private discussion with the hotel owner during the raid. Following that conversation, it is alleged that the remaining rooms of the hotel were not inspected.

The development has raised questions among locals, with many asking why a complete search was not conducted despite receiving a specific complaint. Residents say greater clarity from the police is necessary to remove doubts surrounding the operation.

After the raid, police maintained that the search was conducted solely based on the complaint received and reiterated that no concrete proof of illegal activities was discovered.

The incident has since become a major topic of discussion across the city. Many residents believe that transparent investigations in such sensitive matters are essential to maintain public trust and prevent future confusion.
