Agartala, 29th May 2026: Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha said Tripura is steadily strengthening its digital governance system through a series of ongoing reforms and technology-driven initiatives.
He was speaking at the inauguration of a workshop titled “Tech Enabled” held at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala, organised by NICSI under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in collaboration with the state government.
Sinha said the state has already made significant progress in digitising administrative processes. “Various initiatives have been taken to build a digital administration. Many areas of governance are already digitised, and an e-governance system now functions from the Cabinet level down to the Gram Panchayat level. NIC and NICSI are contributing significantly to this transformation,” he stated.
He further pointed out that e-Office systems have been introduced across government offices at the state, district, and sub-division levels. The implementation of e-billing in the power sector and e-hospital services in healthcare has also improved efficiency, reduced delays, and enhanced transparency in public services.
According to him, Tripura is performing well among northeastern states in terms of digital infrastructure development. He expressed confidence that the adoption of tech-enabled services will further improve the efficiency and functioning of government departments.
NICSI Managing Director Alok Tiwari, who also attended the programme, said the Tech-Enabled initiative aims to further strengthen and modernise digital governance across states.
