Agartala, 25th June 2026: The Pulse Polio Programme-2026 will be conducted across North Tripura district on June 28 as part of the National Immunization Day initiative. A press conference regarding the programme was held on Thursday at the office of the Chief Medical Officer in Dharmanagar.
Addressing the media, Chief Medical Officer of North Tripura district, Dr. Deepak Haldar, informed that the Health department has set a target of vaccinating 45,772 children below five years of age across the district.
To ensure smooth implementation of the vaccination drive, a total of 458 vaccination booths and seven transit booths have been established at different locations. As part of the massive exercise, 1,872 health workers and volunteers, along with 94 supervisors, will be engaged in the programme.
Dr. Haldar urged parents and guardians to extend full cooperation and ensure that every child below the age of five is brought to the nearest vaccination booth on the scheduled day to receive the polio drops.
Health Department officials present at the press conference stated that the government’s continued immunization efforts are aimed at strengthening the mission of building a polio-free society. They appealed to citizens to actively participate and cooperate with health workers to make the Pulse Polio Programme-2026 a success.
